Dr. Dayena Lee 

Dr. Dayena Lee grew up in Greensboro NC after moving to the U.S. from South Korea at the age of 5! She attended UNC-Chapel Hill for undergraduate studies, double majoring in Psychology and Asian Studies. She then received her master’s degree in Physiology from NC State University. She went on to attend UNC-Chapel Hill School of  Dentistry receiving her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. 

During dental School, Dr. D. Lee was part of many student organizations focused on giving back to the community and was awarded the International College of Dentistry Philanthropy award.

Before Mebane Oaks Family Dentistry, Dr. D. Lee worked in public health Dentistry as one of the lead dentists and also as the assistant dental director for Piedmont Health Services. During this time, Dr. D. Lee also worked in several private dental offices around the triangle area.

Dr. D. Lee, alongside Dr. K Lee, is an adjunct faculty member at UNC School of  Dentistry and continues to give back to the community by helping dental students in various community outreach dental programs.

In her free time, she loves travelling and experiencing new adventures with her husband,  Dr. Alex Chong, also a dentist in the triangle area. They currently live in Durham, NC  with their 15-year-old Chihuahua, Choco. 

Dr. D. Lee is a member of the NC Dental Society, American Dental Association, and  Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Kandice Lee 

Dr. Kandice Lee was born in California but raised in North Carolina. Moving to Charlotte at a young age, she considers herself a true North Carolinian. Her parents, immigrants from South Korea, taught her from an early age what it meant to work diligently, respectfully, and with compassion.

While the decision for dentistry came years later, she started her journey and interest in the healthcare field with a science-driven education, beginning at Myers Park High School’s International Baccalaureate Program. She went on to study Biology at UNC-Chapel Hill for her undergraduate studies, followed by a Master’s degree in Physiology from NC State University. She has since decided that the fairest way to deal with the university rivalry is to support UNC basketball and NC State football. She then completed her education at UNC-Chapel Hill- School of Dentistry, where she received the training to not only diagnose and restore dentition but to offer comprehensive care. 

Following graduation, she went on to work in public health being able to refine her skills and give back to a community in need. It was here that she learned the significance between the mouth and a patient's overall health as well as the importance of oral health education. 

In her free time, Dr. K. Lee enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling,  reading, and doing yoga. On most weekends you can find her relaxing with her husband Dr. Matt Barnes and fur baby Rylee.

Dr. K. Lee is a member of the NC Dental Society and the American Dental Association. 

Hope - Office Manager 

As Mebane Oak Family Dentistry’s Office Manager, Hope avidly works alongside our team to ensure that your visit with us is enjoyable and comfortable from start to finish. 

Hope is truly the glue to keep our dental family together. 

Bringing 13 years of dental office experience and over 22 years in patient care, Hope loves working with the best doctors and tremendous team members knowing that they will help their patients achieve a healthy and beautiful smile. 

Hope resides in Cedar Grove, where she loves to spend time with her immediate family whom she adores. 

In her spare time, you can find Hope reading, vegetable gardening, fishing, watching movies and even mowing her grass (which she LOVES). 

She looks forward to assisting you with all aspects of your dental visit. 

MJ- Registered Dental Hygienist

MJ is one of our hygienists in our practice. MJ’s main goal is to change a person's perspective about coming to the dental office and make sure his patients fully understand all aspects of their oral health. 

He brings several years of experience along with a high quality work ethic. He always wants to make each patient feel confident about their smile! MJ will make you come feel happy and comfortable from the moment you walk in. MJ is also bilingual in Spanish!

MJs favorite things to do is to hang out with his wife and dog. He loves the outdoors, plants and video games.

Becky - Lead Administrator 

As soon as you walk into Mebane Oaks Family Dentistry, you can count on Becky will be there to assist you with all of your scheduling needs.

As our schedule coordinator, Becky brings over 16 years of dental experience. Interacting and establishing relationships with all of our patients is one of Becky’s passions, so make sure to say hello the next time you are in!

Becky currently resides in Guilford County with her husband Brian and two sons, where they are constantly visiting their families who live in the surrounding area. 

When not at Mebane Oaks Family Dentistry, Becky is a proud GramGram to her four grandchildren who are her absolute world. 

In her spare time, you can find Becky relaxing and enjoying the beach in the summer!

Selene - Patient Care Coordinator 

Meet Selene, our lovely patient care coordinator. She is the oldest of 4, born and raised in Durham, NC.

Selene comes from a medical assistant background of several years! She is also a medical/public certified translator, fluent in Spanish, and has over 6 years of customer service experience.

She loves interacting and taking great care of our patients from different backgrounds. When she is not caring for others, she loves spending time with her 2 year old Yorkie! She loves anything colored pink, the beach, and a good crime documentary.
